Lebaran

It's been a while!
And now I'm back to write another post in this weblog.

Yup, this episode I'll write about Lebaran Day.

Eid-ul Fitr or Eid Mubarak or commonly called Lebaran in Bahasa Indonesia, is the day when Moslems around the globe celebrate the victory after fully one month fast during Ramadhan.

Many things people do to celebrate Lebaran. On Lebaran eve, people, especially men and boys, celebrate the very first festival of Lebaran day called Takbiran. They'll go around the city to celebrate the victory by saying prayer along the way as a sign that tell Ramadhan is over and time to welcome Syawal.
As for women and girls, they are usually busy at home preparing special food for the next day. Talking about food, ketupat seems to be the very special food. It's been a-must-cooked food for Lebaran for ages. But, ketupat won't be complete without opor ayam and rendang.

Lebaran has always been a moment when families and friends visit one another. People who live seperately in different city with their family usually "go home" to see their family and celebrate Lebaran together. They usually do this "go home" tradition or "mudik" a few days before Lebaran. Many transportations are used for mudik. They take planes, busses, trains, ships, private cars, and motorcycles as mudik transportation. That's why, during mudik time, the trafic is so crowded, and because of this many, accidents occur during mudik time, most common accident is car crash.

Lebaran is always be special moment for Moslems. Special moment that only occur once a year. Moment that all Moslems are waiting for.

Нαρρч Lebaran, folks. Minal Aidin Wal Faidzin, mohon maaf lahir dan batin.
